Shopify sellers can sync Promotions/Discounts except Free Shipping on Shopify directly to TikTok Shop (TTS) with a one-click sync feature. This capability ensures sellers can efficiently manage their promotions across all platforms without manual duplication.
With the latest updates, TikTok Shop now supports the Buy X Get Y (BXGY) promotion model, allowing more flexible promotion configurations and improved synchronisation behavior between Shopify and TikTok Shop.

Understanding Your Discount Sync Policy

1. Shopify-synced events are now clearly identifiable via dedicated tags. To protect data integrity, editing these events in TTS Seller Center is not supported.
2. Your Shopify promotions will be synced to TikTok Shop as the following:
   • Amount off orders = Synced to TTS as Buy More Save More
   • Amount off products = Synced to TTS as Product Discount
   • Buy X get Y = Synced to TTS as Buy X Get Y
3. While we will ensure that your discount form, discount rate, discount time and other key information are synchronized, some fields like "combination" and "eligibility" will need to follow TTS policy guidelines.

Please note

• Shopify-synced promotions cannot be edited directly in TikTok Shop Seller Center
• All modifications must be made in Shopify, and then re-synced to TikTok Shop
  

Promotion Specific Settings on TikTok App

We’ve introduced a new Promotion Sync Settings feature which gives you more control over your promotions. You can also turn off future promotion syncs if you don’t want new promotions to automatically sync to TikTok Shop.
To turn off the settings:

1. Go to Shopify --> TikTok app --> Shop management --> Shop settings tab
2. Go to Marketing tab
3. Turn OFF the sync you do NOT want to sync
   
   

Buy More, Save More (BMSM) Combined Discounts

Note: If a product is included in multiple Buy More, Save More promotions (including both product-level and order-level discounts), a priority logic is applied on the Seller Center side. As a result, only one discount will be applied to the product.

Buy X Get Y (BXGY) Promotion

TikTok Shop now supports the Buy X Get Y (BXGY) promotion model which includes:

• Y products can now be discounted items,
• X and Y can be the same product
• Y discounts can be configured as either percentage-based or fixed amount discounts
• Sellers can define per-order usage limits to control how many times a BXGY promotion can be applied within a single order

Some promotions may be flagged as a potential discount risk if differences exist between Shopify and TikTok Shop promotion rules.

Quantity Difference Risk

If the Get Y quantity is greater than 1 and the item is not free, the promotion will also be marked as potential discount risk.This is because:

• Shopify supports Y quantity thresholds
• TikTok Shop currently does not enforce Y quantity thresholds

Example:
If a promotion is configured in Shopify as:

• Buy 2 items (X)
• Get 50% off 3 items (Y)

Shopify will only apply the discount when exactly 3 eligible Y items are added to the cart.
However, TikTok Shop does not currently enforce the same Y quantity threshold. Instead, the discount can apply to up to 3 Y items, meaning buyers may still receive the discount even if fewer than 3 Y items are purchased.
As a result:

• Discounts may apply earlier than intended
• Promotion costs per order may increase

To help prevent unexpected discount behaviour, these promotions will require seller review and confirmation before syncing to TikTok Shop.

Promotion Specific Set Up Information

1. Login to Shopify
2. In the Discounts tab, click on Create discount
   
3. Choose your discount type.
   1. In this example, we are using Amount Off Order
4. Fill in the discount details as required for your chosen promotion type
   
5. Choose TikTok as sales channel in Sales channel section
   
6. Once saved, go to TikTok App in Shopify
7. In Shop management tab > Marketing > Promotion Sync, you can verify the discount and sync status
   
8. You can also use the filter to search the promotion based on the discount category
   
9. In Shop management tab > Marketing > Discounts tab, Under Manage Your promotions, you can verify the discount start and end date
   
   

How to re-sync a promotion that is no longer synced

1. Login to Shopify
2. Go to TikTok App in Shopify
3. In Shop management tab > Marketing > Promotion Sync you can see all of your live promotions and always select [Sync].
   

How to unsync

Option 1 (from TikTok sales channel)

1. Go to your Shopify app > Sales channels > TikTok > Shop Management > Marketing > Promotion sync > Select relevant promotion
2. You can click on [Unsync] if you do NOT want to sync the discount to TTS.
   

Option 2 (from Shopify Discounts at discount creation)

1. Go to your Shopify app > Discounts > Create discount
2. You can uncheck "TikTok" from sales channel on the discount to unsync the discount to TTS
   
   
3. Once unsynced, the promotion status will be deactivated
   

Option 3 (from Shopify Discounts in bulk or after creation)

1. You can select all the promotions you do NOT want to sync to TikTok Shop
   
2. Click on Deny Sales channel
   
3. Choose TikTok and click Unpublish
   
4. You can verify by checking sales channel section on the discount
