In this article, we will outline the enhancements we have made for sellers when you are syncing products from Shopify to TikTok Shop (this process is also know as catalogue syncing). With this upgrade, we aim to streamline the product listing process for sellers, making it more intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly.

Overview of the [Manage and sync products] tab

In the [Manage and sync products] tab, you will notice that there are some new features that will help you in managing the product syncing process between Shopify and TikTok Shop. You can now:

1. Search for products: You can easily search for a product by its name.
2. Use Filter: You can use the filter option to identify products using filters such as sync status, product category or product opportunities.

Action required tab

1. It is really important that you pay attention to the [Action required] tab as this provides sellers with information on the next steps that sellers need to take to ensure their products are successfully synced to TikTok Shop.

2. You will see the following sub-tabs in this section that will provide them with the next best steps.

Product Syncing Process

• Navigate to: Shopify > TikTok > Shop Management > Manage and sync products
• You will find that there are 2 ways for you to sync products from Shopify to TTS.

Sync Products Individually

1. You will find a list of your Shopify products listed here and select the product you want to sync to your TikTok Shop.
   1. You can also search for specific products by entering the product name directly.
2. Select [Edit and Sync] and this will prompt you to fill in additional product information that is required for you to create a product listing on TikTok Shop.

3. Select [Save and Sync] to initiate the syncing process.

Sync Products in Bulk

Sellers can now bulk edit and list products, even if the product is across multiple categories. Follow the instructions below to get started. Previously, you would have needed to add in the product details for each product individually, so this new update will make it easier for you to upload product to your TikTok Shop from Shopify.

1. Select the products you wish to bulk edit. You can select products across different categories and select Bulk Edit and List to open the bulk editing page.
   
2. Now you can:
   1. Bulk edit product details including Brand, Product attributes, product weight, package dimensions, product category, description.
      
3. Once you have added all the details, you can submit them for review in one go.

Sync Multiple Products by Applying Templates

1. Templates, also known as 'category templates' enable you to create a standardised model for product attributes that can be applied to multiple products that fall under the same category.
2. To get started, select all the products that fall under the same category.
3. Select [Apply template] and this will open a side screen that will prompt you to select the TikTok Shop category these products will fall under.

4. You can now either select [Create] and add a name for your category template, so you can easily identify it if you need to use it later. Or you can [Apply] an existing template to the selected products.

5. If you select, [Create] you will be prompted to fill in additional product information.
   

Apply Category Templates in Bulk

Sellers now also have the option to apply Category Templates to products across multiple categories in one go.

1. Select the products you wish to apply a category template to and then click [Apply template]. As you can see in the below example, the TikTok Shop category for the products in the screenshot are different and ranges from Womenswear, Beauty, Textiles and Toys category.
2. Now you will see that products under the same category are already grouped together and you can quickly select which category template you want to apply to each category. This will greatly help you in uploading product information quickly across multiple products.
   1. You can create new templates or use existing ones.
      
3. Once you have added all the relevant templates, click on [Save and Submit for review].

6. Click [Save] on your template and then [Save and sync]. This will now apply the product category and information to all your selected products and this will easily sync them to TikTok Shop.
   

FAQs

1. Why can't I sync the product?

If you see the sync more product button grey out, you can hover it to see the reason for the specific reasonsThe common reason could be: as a new TTS merchant, you are still in the seller probation period. 2. How to change category on a product

You can change existing category on a product ( in any product sync status) by following steps:

1. Click on Edit
2. Scroll down to Additional product information section
3. Click on Change if you wanted to change to any existing category templates
4. Click on create if you want to create a new template
